Welcome to the HILAS Project Website

The aim of HILAS - aircraft safely in the air...HILAS stands for Human Integration into the Lifecycle of Aviation Systems. Funded by the European Commission, HILAS is an international research initiative with 40 partners from across the aviation industry and academia in Europe, and also beyond.

The HILAS project will develop a model of good practice for the integration of human factors across the full life-cycle of aviation systems. The project contains four parallel strands of work: the integration and management of human factors knowledge; the flight operations environment and performance; the evaluation of new flight deck technologies, and the monitoring and assessment of maintenance operations.
